2023 Guide: Choose your next Murano ceiling lamp

Murano flush-mount lamps are ideal for small rooms and rooms with low ceilings. They are mounted close to the ceiling or directly on the wall and therefore take up less space than a pendant. If you are looking for a lamp for your hallway, bedroom or summer house, a flush-mount can be the perfect solution.

Guide to choosing a flush-mount lamp

1. What kind of mood and lighting do you want

First and foremost, consider the purpose of the lamp. Should it provide general lighting for a room or serve as mood lighting? Should it have a specific style or design to fit your space? These questions will help you narrow down your options.

It’s easy to attach a cord with a switch and use the flush mounts as a wall lamp. The white swirl flush-mount lamps are classic and give a pleasant light.

2. The diameter size can matter

Consider the size of the room where the lamp will be placed. In a large room you can choose a large flush-mount lamp or several smaller lamps, while a smaller lamp is more suitable for a small space such as an entryway or a bathroom.

3. What is your style — and which color fits

4. From soft ambience to task lighting

Almost all vintage Murano flush-mount lamps come with either an E14 or E27 socket. That is the standard size and you can choose from a wide range of bulbs. If you fit LED bulbs in your flush-mount lamp, the possibilities are almost endless — at low wattage you can achieve everything from soft ambient lighting to strong, energy-efficient light.

From vintage finds to our own collection

At VETRO our love for Murano began with the hunt for special vintage finds — lamps with history, color and the unique character that only mouth-blown glass can have. For years we curated vintage Murano lamps while simultaneously working on developing our own collection.

In close collaboration with Murano maestros, we spent several years refining shapes, colors and details into what is now our Candy collection. A collection created with respect for tradition, but with VETRO’s own eye for color, proportions and modern interiors.

That is why you no longer find vintage lamps at VETRO. Instead, our universe now consists of our own handmade glass lamps — designed by us and produced in Italy in close collaboration with our glassblowers. Lamps that carry on the Murano heritage, but are made for today’s homes.
