A coastal summer house with colored VETRO lamps

In Holløselund near Vejby, Studio Force Majeure has transformed a 1970s summer house into a bright, sensory, and cohesive home close to the Danish coast. The project has also been featured by Remodelista as an example of modern Scandinavian summer house design that respects architecture, materials, and atmosphere.

The summer house was originally a timber‑beamed house, where the dark exterior contrasts with a light, lively interior. Inside, the rooms have been opened up and gently rethought with a focus on light, materials, and small places to linger. The original character of the summer house has been preserved but elevated with color, texture, and details that make the home both personal and modern.

VETRO's handmade glass lamps are part of the home's warm and playful material story. In the hallway, our yellow/pink Ø20 pendants hang, adding a soft point of color and a more intimate mood to the transition between rooms. The small pendants work as luminous objects in their own right and underscore how lighting can also contribute to a home's character.

In the same project, our yellow Ø30 flush mount is used as a wall lamp. That placement gives the lamp a sculptural quality and shows how a simple glass form can be used more freely in the interior. The yellow glass adds warmth and depth to the wall and creates a calm, atmospheric light in the room.
