The most unique, rare and special vintage Murano lamps
We have handled many vintage Murano lamps, and every now and then we come across one we have never seen before. Here’s an insight into the rarest lamps on our shelves.
The UFO-like Murano mushroom table lamp with its recognizable swirl
The unknown Murano egg lamp
We have never had a lamp that drew such mixed reactions as our lamps that most closely resemble the shape of an egg. Maybe not the most flattering comparison, but it’s the closest way to describe this special Murano glass lamp. With its distinctive shape, the egg lamp—both as a table lamp and floor lamp—receives many comments in our showroom. Despite its unusual form, we’ve grown to love this rare egg lamp in both large and small sizes.
The beloved mushroom with rounded forms
You’ve likely seen the popular table lamp shaped like a mushroom, and it comes in many variants. The mushroom lamp, as it’s called, is most often mouth-blown from a single piece of glass, and we say “most often” because sometimes we find a mushroom handcrafted from two glass parts—a shade and a base. Color, pattern, and size vary if you’re lucky enough to find this beautiful table lamp. The form is always recognizable but comes in different versions. We have fallen for a particularly rounded mushroom table lamp and because of its shape we call it a champignon. It’s not often we find it, but when we do we simply can’t resist its beautiful rounded forms and distinctive closed top.
Colorful mouth-blown Murano lamps in various shades and shapes

If you own a vintage Murano lamp in cream or a soft yellow, you can consider yourself quite lucky. There are many shades of yellow, but especially the cream-colored and very mild hues stand out. Murano lamps in this color provide a pleasant light by themselves, making the lamp desirable. We also think they’re popular because they look warm even when unlit. That fits well in Nordic homes. Unfortunately, there aren’t many of them. We are always on the lookout for wall lamps, ceiling lamps, and table lamps in these exact colors because we know how popular they are, but they are hard to find.
Two-toned Murano mushroom table lamps

We have only a few times found two-toned vintage Murano mushroom table lamps, so they naturally belong to our rare finds. Two mushroom lamps in particular have stood out with their sought-after colors: the pink-and-white table lamp with a beautiful swirl, and the blue-and-pink table lamp with a swirl. The latter has been especially notable since pink and blue are very popular colors, and when combined in the same lamp it hardly gets better. It must be one of the lamps we’ll never forget.

The candy-striped Murano mushroom family
It’s absolutely rare that we find several of the same lamp, but we managed it—multiple colors even. We found three vintage Murano mushrooms with closed tops that stand out in shape from the Murano lamps we’d found so far. With its beautiful form the glassblower managed to pull the colors pink, blue, gray, and yellow from the lamp’s foot up to a lovely finish at the top. We love them and think they would look great in a child’s room.
