Elis Copenhagen — København, Danmark

Elis Copenhagen is a small, Italian-inspired dessert and coffee spot in the heart of København, where gelato, filled churros, specialty coffee and seasonal sweet treats are made with a focus on flavor, craftsmanship and quality ingredients.

Behind the place is Elia Filosa, who grew up in Sardinia and has many years of experience with both gelato and sweet specialties in København. At Elis, his Italian roots and his many years working with gelato, churros and chestnuts come together in one concept — a place that feels warm, colorful and unpretentious, yet with products whose details are carefully considered.

On Holbergsgade, close to Nyhavn, Elis is created as a small respite in the city. You can pop in for a coffee, a freshly filled churro or a scoop of gelato, or linger and enjoy the venue’s relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. The menu features both classic and more playful flavor combinations, from Italian gelato made with fresh ingredients to specialty coffee, sweet pastries and hot chestnuts in the winter months.

In the interior, lighting plays an important role in supporting the warm, sensory experience. VETROs mouth-blown Murano-lamps add color, softness and a more sculptural expression to the space, which fits naturally with Elis’ playful universe.

The organic variations and lively surface of the glass give the lamp a distinctive presence in the room. In daylight they act as colored objects that add depth and character to the interior. When darkness falls, they create a warm, soft light that makes the space more intimate and inviting.

The project demonstrates how lighting can help support a hospitality concept where the experience is not just about the product, but about the overall atmosphere around it. At Elis, the lamps become part of the story of Italian craftsmanship, everyday luxury and small moments you want to return to.
