2023 Guide: Choose your next Murano ceiling lamp

Murano flush-mounted ceiling lamps are ideal for small rooms and spaces with low ceilings. They are mounted close to the ceiling or directly on the wall and therefore take up less space than a pendant. If you are looking for a light for your hallway, bedroom, or summer house, a flush mount can be the perfect solution.

Guide to choosing a flush-mounted ceiling lamp

1. What mood and lighting do you want

First of all, consider what the purpose of the lamp is. Will it be used to provide general lighting in a room or as ambient lighting? Should it be in a particular style or design to fit your space? These questions will help you narrow down your options.

It's easy to attach a cord with a switch and use the flush mounts as wall lamps. The white swirl flush-mounted lamps are classic and provide a pleasant light.

2. Diameter can make a difference

Consider the size of the room where the lamp will be placed. In a large room you can choose a large flush-mounted lamp or several smaller lamps, while a smaller lamp will be more appropriate in a compact space such as an entryway or a bathroom.

3. What is your style — and which color suits it

Flush-mounted lamps come in many different colors and styles. Consider your decor and choose a lamp that matches your personal taste and interior style.

4. From soft lighting to task lighting

Almost all vintage Murano flush-mounted lamps come with either an E14 or E27 socket. These are standard sizes and you can choose from a wide variety of bulbs. If you choose to use LED bulbs in your flush-mounted lamp, the possibilities are almost endless — at low wattages you can achieve everything from soft ambient lighting to strong, energy-efficient light.

From vintage finds to our own collection

At VETRO our love for Murano began with the search for special vintage finds — lamps with history, color and the unique character that only mouth-blown glass can have. For several years we curated vintage Murano lamps while at the same time working to develop our own collection.

In close collaboration with Murano maestros, we have spent several years refining shapes, colors and details in what is today our Candy collection. A collection created with respect for tradition, but with VETRO's own eye for color, proportions and modern interiors.

Therefore you will no longer find vintage lamps at VETRO. Instead, our range consists of our own handmade glass lamps — designed by us and produced in Italy in close collaboration with our glassblowers. Lamps that carry on the legacy of Murano, but are created for today's homes.
